Licensed practical nurses may enroll in the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree at MassBay Community College and transfer credit for advanced placement. The program provides the educational requirements students need to practice as registered nurses. Nursing courses include a theoretical and clinical component and must be completed concurrently and sequentially. Licensed practical nurses are encouraged to apply to the Associate Degree in Nursing program at Roxbury Community College to continue their education to become a registered nurse. Although advanced placement is offered to LPNs, the policy only applies for general education courses as all nursing courses must be completed. Massasoit Community College offers an LPN to Associate Degree Advanced Placement Nurse Education program for LPNs who plan to complete the requirements for a registered nursing degree.
