LPN Programs Virginia Beach, VA

Licensed practical nurses use their care, compassion, intelligence, and technical abilities to care for patients. They work under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians serving in a variety of roles based on the medical setting. Like other members of the nursing team, an LPN’s activities transcend a specific job description and are guided by a commitment to patient care and the high standards held within the profession. Typical responsibilities include bedside care, wound care, administering medications, monitoring patients reactions to medication and treatment, inserting catheters, assessing patients and implementing care plans, and educating patients and their families to promote health. In long-term care facilities and hospitals, LPNs may supervise nursing assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.
