LVN Programs Killeen, TX

A licensed vocational nurse (LVN) is an integral member of the health care team, providing direct care services to patients or residents in hospitals, nursing homes, home health, and long-term care facilities. The LVN assists in the coordination of care in collaboration with other members of the health care team and under the supervision of a registered nurse. Licensed vocational nurses may assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in some settings or may assist registered nurses with this task in other settings. The LPN scope of practice requires the individual to be a team player, organized, compassionate, committed, and hard-working. LVNs must also be able to perform complex procedure, prioritize tasks, and have good communication and math skills. Since vocational nurses must be accountable for their actions and practice within legal ethical parameters set by the State of Texas, the individual must be responsible, accountable, and willing to seek opportunities that will foster professional and personal development.
